This year Ryan earned the top award in his high school service club with a total of 254 hours. I have to say that lots of the hours took some encouragement on my part to get him to sign up and do. A lot of times he'd say "I don't really feel like doing it..." But I'd encourage him and I think in most cases he would come home from the service project feeling glad that he went. There are also donation projects throughout the year that count toward the number of service hours. I'm hoping that he is learning that giving up some of his time to help someone else instead of only focusing on himself is worthwhile life skill.
The students of the LHS service club did 7,330 hours of service this school year!!! Wow, that's incredible~

Does he get a scholarship for having the most hours? I was supposed to get a $200 scholarship (or something around there) for having the most service hours but I don't think I ever received it.
