NEVER FORGET!!

I think most people remember exactly what they were doing on Sept. 11, 2001 when they heard 'THE NEWS' !  I was lying in bed battling a migraine headache.  The phone rang, and when I answered it Kevin said "Hurry, go turn on the TV--- A plane just crashed into the World Trade Center!!  I got out of bed, and stared at the TV, shocked and in disbelief!  I couldn't tear myself away from the news.  Of course we had no idea of the severity of what we were witnessing...how it would change life forever in America and around the world! I still have an awful sickening feeling when I look at images from that day.

Today, September 11, 2011 - 10 years later, we reflect and remember the heroes who so bravely sacrificed their lives to help someone else. We remember the families who lives have forever been changed, the people on flight 93 in Philadelphia, the firefighters..... we won't ever forget those images we saw.

I think too about how the people in America came together, united in a cause to move forward, to rebuild, and to help one another.  I am a Canadian, but I felt compelled to hang the American flag proudly, and to more fully appreciate the many blessings of living in this country.

This video says so much!

Our son Bently and his wife Bonnie chose Sept. 11, 2009 to be their wedding day.  They knew it was a day in history marked with sadness, but they wanted it to be a date they could remember with happiness.  I appreciate that, and enjoy that we are looking to the future, growing,  and becoming a stronger, happier family.
