It's hard to believe that all of the wedding planning and doing is over!
Last Saturday we had the wedding reception for Jordan and Shawn here in Georgia. Everything went beautifully with much thanks owed to some good friends! The Atterberry family in our Branch is absolutely amazing! They are the most giving, selfless people I know. I had made most of the food for the reception, but they took care of making it all look so beautiful!! They also took care of the music for dancing, and getting the wedding video set up etc. I knew I didn't have to worry about things if they were helping.

Kristie, Boyd & Morgan Atterberry hard at work.
Zach, Bethany & Vensent all helped out too.

Another friend from the branch helped with the flowers, Jessica Armstrong made the fudge for the favors, & Mary Kate Villamor & Sue Harris helped decorate the tables. My friend, Kelly Mooney loaned me some baskets, & Amanda McMinn loaned me a beautiful vase. Bet you didn't know I had that many friends, eh? ha

When I was talking to my friend Sue Harris, about trying to find a place for the reception she suggested that we could have it at her church. (Our Branch building just isn't big enough to accommodate food and guests and dancing etc.) At first I wondered if it would just be too strange having it at the Methodist church, but I walk there in the winter with some friends, & feel comfortable with the setting. The room we held it in is very pretty. It is is two stories tall with beautiful arched windows and a wrought iron railing around the second story. It has a big kitchen with lots of space so that we could cut up the vegetables & fruits and put the food together there. The church workers set up all the tables and chairs for us, and even had the white table cloths that we could use. The man in charge of the building set-up happens to be Ryan's soccer coach this year :) Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and really made us feel comfortable. It was nice of them to share their beautiful building.

Dancing with my Dad
Daddy-Daughter dance to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland
Every time I listened to that song before the reception I would melt into tears!! Kevin & Jordan have enjoyed dancing together for years, so they just had fun together, & it helped keep the mood light so I didn't cry ;)
It's always so hard for me to feel like I can visit with everyone and give them the attention that I want to at the reception. We really appreciated the friends who came to support Jordan & Shawn. It was extra special to have my Mom & Dad with us since they weren't able to be in Utah for the wedding.
We also enjoyed having Shawn's parents here--their trip was much too quick though, so we hope they can come back again sometime.
We were really sorry that Natalie, Jack & Jackson weren't able to be at the reception.
We are excited that they will be here for a visit in a couple of weeks though :) --just too bad we couldn't have everyone together at the same time for a family picture. Maybe we'll let Jordan do some of her fancy photoshop work . ;)

How beautiful! Looks like it was a great time! So sorry we missed it! Did Jordan cut her hair? It looks great!
It all looks so pretty! Too bad we couldn't be there. See you soon!
It was a great reception! I was so happy to help!
Oh....and Chris I was so impressed with your calmness during all the planning and preparation! I hope I am that calm when my time comes to plan all that....but I have at least 12 years to prepare! i hope...
What a wonderful reception! Keep all your planning notes, etc because I'll ask you to help when it's time to plan Sadie's wedding (in about 10 years or more!) Now it's your time to sit back and relax. You deserve it!
And yes, I would love to teach you and MK how to make the stars. It's what I'm making for Christmas giftss. Hopefully I can come up soon!
