Growing up we used to make up "goodie plates" and deliver them to our neighbors at Christmas. When we got married I just figured that was what I was supposed to do too, so I carried on the tradition. Over the years I have tried baking different things. Some years I had more time than others, and I'd make "cookie trees" or a big variety of different cookies and squares. The past couple of years I have made loaves of bread. This year before Christmas I baked about 65+ loaves of banana, poppyseed & carrot bread. This is a picture of about half of them. We always love going Christmas carolling to neighbors & friends and delivering goodies. We were able to hand out loaves to everyone at church the Sunday before we left for Canada, but ran out of time do deliver the rest. We still had a few loaves to deliver along with "Happy New Years" wishes when we got home again. Somehow I don't think our friends minded getting them "late". :)

Heck no, sure didn't mind mine late! And I will take any leftovers off your hands if need be!!!!!
I do need the recipe, it was delicious.
Having a tradition like that is awesome. My parents have friends that deliver a kuchen/coffeecake every Christmas and it is delicious! Wish I could make something neat like that!
Wow mom, I am very impressed! That is a lot of bread to make.
Hi Mrs. West! So you don't know me, but I went to high school with Natalie and Jordan and I've been on Jordan's blog for a while and I was just browsing her friends and I cam across your blog- it's always fun to read about other people's lives and families :)
Anyways, I just wanted to say I really enjoy your blog and you seem like such a great mom! Keep up the good work :)
