I think I'm starting into my second childhood. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a book that has patterns for 18" doll clothing with matching clothes for girls. I was so excited to get the book in the mail and show it to Amy. She loves her American Girl dolls, and I have big plans to make some new outfits for their wardrobe and hopefully some to match for Amy. Amy and I had a great time looking through the book together. It even came with a dvd showing some neat tips for constructing doll clothing.
The first thing she wanted me to sew was some pajamas for her doll. I have two containers of fabric left from my 'L.B.A.' AKA - Life Before Amy days ;) - when I used to sew dresses and other clothes for Jordan and Natalie and myself. We dug through the fabric and picked out some that would work. Some of the fabric is just small pieces (the blue I used for the pj top, so it took some juggling to make the pattern pieces fit.
Amy doesn't know that I started sewing yesterday, so I am excited for her to go in her room when she gets home from school today and see Allison waiting in her new pj's on her bed.
I can hardly wait to get sewing another outfit. It sure would be nice to have a surger...ha, in my dreams!

Cute! I remember that fabric from My childhood :)
Is Allison my American Girl doll? she looks familiar... anyways, if she's not I'm sure I have one somewhere that Amy can have.
Fun :) I'm sure she loved the new PJ's. I'm so excited to come there next week!
how fun!
