Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Metcalf

Yesterday was an absolutely perfect day! Jordan and Shawn were sealed in the Timpanogos Temple at 10:00 a.m. It is difficult to put into words the feelings I had as I watched them walk into the sealing room, and then sit together holding hands as they listened to Shawn's grandfather speak to them before they were sealed for time and all eternity. They could not have looked any happier or excited!! It was extra special to have Shawn's Grandpa officiating in the ceremony. It is such an overwhelming feeling to me to look around the sealing room and feel the love and support from all of the family members and closest friends who have come to share this
sacred time with us.

A feeling of pure JOY came over me again as it did last year as I witnessed Natalie & Jack being sealed. I knew deep in my heart that Jordan and Shawn were being married where Heavenly Father wanted them to be married, in the temple of the Lord. This has to be one of the greatest rewards of being a parent---knowing that your child has lived their life so that they are worthy to go to the temple and make those sacred covenants with the Lord, & to then be sealed for time and all eternity to someone who has also lived worthy of those blessings.

After Shawn's Grandpa spoke for a while he said "Now we come to the part that we came here for... Jordan said "LET'S DO IT!" (it made everyone chuckle a little) She was so ready to be married to Shawn, & he was ready to be married to her. You could just see it on their faces.

A beautiful bride!

I was so touched to be able to share this special day with you. I look around the room and I know that families are forever, and that as beautiful as the sealing rooms of the temples are, our Heavenly Father is wanting us to know that it is just a twinkling of how beautiful a relationship can be as a couple keeps their temple covanents.

Looks like all is happy and went as planned. Time for you to stay in the south and to recooperate! The bride and groom look very happy together and you have reason to smile and hold your head up high. You have two daughters sealed in the Temple. I;m very poud of you and your family. I'm just so thankful to be on the sideline cheering for the West family! Hopefully we can see each other soon! TJ
