I got this email from our friends, the Toney's today. They are from Georgia, but moved to Florida 8 or 9 years ago. It was so funny, I just had to share it---with her permission, of course. :)
"At New Years, of course, I cooked some blackeyed peas. My grandchildren don't know a lot about dry beans. Jensen, my 1st grader said, "Mother, I like these black guy peas." He didn't have a clue when we all cracked up." :)
