Lead By Example - Forgiveness

Yesterday I recieved a call asking me to speak in a YSA leadership training meeting Sunday evening. The topic is 'Leading by Example'. My mind has been racing in different directions as I have thought of people who have influenced my life as they have led by example. I came across this moving video (click on those words to watch it) which is a talk given by Pres. Faust entitled Forgiveness - The Greatest Gift. I remember when Pres. Faust gave this talk- It was so clear that he understood, recognized and lived what he spoke of. He was a man of God who LED BY EXAMPLE!!
Although I am not harboring any hate or ill feelings right now, I know that President Faust's message of forgiveness is one we all need. With so many attacks on the family, & people all around us openly turning away from principles and teachings we know to be true, it is so important to follow those who lead as the Savior did, & to ourselves lead by example.
There have been times in my life when I have been hurt, & for a while, I let those tumultuous feelings stir and swell within. It was only when I overcame my pride and learned I needed to stop waiting for 'the other person' to say sorry, that I was able to recognize the real feeling of peace and forgiveness that the Savior taught. You cannot lead by example without forgiving others.

I love Elder Faust! I was just thinking about him today when I was reading about Bp. partridge in the D&C. He was Elder Faust's grandfather.

Good luck with your talk!

Dear Chris,
I have always felt that you are a child of god and you are a special spirit and I have always felt this when we are together. Please know that I love you very much. You have raised your family to walk in your foot steps. They are an example of what you have thought them. Love you and Kevin very much, Mom
