Summer Fun

Amy's first "sleepover"
She doesn't look very excited does she...like she'll be drifting off to sleep right away, right?

Actually, it was 10:15 PM (3 hours past her bedtime) and she DID fall asleep as soon as the lights went out!

Trudy's daughter Sadie was so sweet with Amy.

Another FIRST for Amy...she went to see a movie at the theatre.
I know you are astounded--She's 6 years old, and has never been to a movie theatre!
What a deprived child, eh? ha
We went to see the 3-D movie "UP". It was so cute to hear Amy giggling.

Ryan practicing for his debut on the unicycle in the Callaway Gardens Circus ;)
Just kidding
These two just LOVE each other! :)
It sure warms a mother's heart.
Sadie Walker, Amy & Ryan enjoying the paddle boats at Callaway
Friday we met our friends Toddy & Jessica at Granger park. Minutes after we got there it started POURING rain. The kids had a blast running in the rain and splashing in the giant puddles.
Amy is rather timid as she is supposed to jump off the diving board at swimming lessons
Amy has really learned alot in this 2 week session of swimming lessons She did NOT like putting her face in the water when she started. Now she is working on the front and back crawl, floating on her stomach and back, bobbing and some other skills.
A girl in her class wisely told her that "If you believe in yourself and you practice and try really hard you will succeed and you can do anything!" (How's that for coming from another 6 year old?) Sounds like her mom must have told that to her a time or two, eh? Amy believed her, and was so excited about what she had accomplished on her second day of lessons.

Wow! That was a lot of stuff packed into one post!!!

The story of Amy not wanting to put her face in the water or jump off the diving board sounds familiar. I think I needed another kid to tell me it would all be okay when I was in swim lessons. The instructors tried forcing me to bob my head in the water and I wouldn't do it. I remember they went and got the meanest guy instructor and he couldn't even convince me to do it. As you know, I didn't graduate swimming lessons that year. I still don't like to put my face in the water!

The picture of Ryan with his arm around Amy is really cute! I'm glad they are so close even though they aren't really close in age. She sure is going to miss him when he graduates. Good thing they still have three more years. And I will enjoy having him out here at BYU (assuming this is where he comes).

How old is Trudy's daughter? Sadie looks a lot older than Amy.

FYI, you should change the formatting on the pictures from the 3D movie... Amy is cut off. I want to see that cute girl!
