Calvin West

I have never figured it out. Maybe it is because Kevin is not a very common name here in the south. Maybe it is because of their accent. But when people here in the South call out my name, they are just as likely to call me Calvin as they are to call me Kevin. So, I have gotten used to responding to Calvin even though I really don't like that name. Today, I went to the doctor because I had a sore throat. I was lucky to get one of the first appointments of the day. I guess when the doctor arrived, they called about a half dozen men back to the exam rooms. In the middle of the list, sure enough, they called out Calvin West. I thought, "Here we go again, I'm going to have to correct the nurse!" Once in the hall with the exam rooms, the nurse asked for Mr. West to step on the scales. Some man stepped right on. I said, "Wait a minute, I'm Mr. West". He said, "I'm Mr. West". Sure enough, he was Calvin. I was glad to finally meet him after all of these years.

I am always getting mail for "Doris West"--usually some sort of warranty stuff from GE or Sears . I think that when our builder sent in a warranty at our first house they must have misread his handwriting, & instead of Chris I get Doris??? I dunno really, that's just our guess.
My Grandma Wilson's name was Doris, maybe she is trying to contact me? Hmmm

No, Grama Wilson's name was Dora.

I get mail for all the Fremlin's in the area (there are a lot of them) We must be first on the route, so when all else fails & it just says Mr & Mrs Fremlin they stuff it in my box. The other day I opened one addressed to K. Fremlin & found 6 calling cards, unfortunately they were my s-i-l Kelly's. She got our power bill, I think that was a good trade for us.
