We have never played the Easter bunny up too big. We just didn't want to distract too much from the real meaning of Easter. Mom & Dad usually take a Sunday afternoon nap, and then Dad usually takes the kids for a walk. When they come back the eggs are usually hidden outside in the yard...or, Dad tries to distract the kids in the house while Mommy bunny hops around the yard hiding eggs. Each of our children ( & some years even the missionaries in our Branch have joined us) gets to find 12 their own color of eggs. This year Amy chose pink, Ryan chose green and Bently chose blue. The kids have so much fun when they spy someone else's egg. They don't tell where it is, but sometimes they walk away and say "I know where one of Bently's eggs are". We have our traditional spots to look---in the birdhouse, in the tailpipe of Bently's car, in the plants on the bench, & ALWAYS in the mailbox! :)

It's fun to think back over the years and realize that these memories and things we do have become a tradition for our children. Aren't family traditions wonderful!!

I love that the "big kids" still do the Easter egg hunt. I really have missed it the past FIVE years that I've been gone. Next year, when I have my own kid at Easter does that mean I'm really a grown up and can't do the hunting??
Don't forget under the umbrella on the table on the deck and on the basket ball goal. And the bell.
I love our traditions!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. :) I can't wait til my family develops some really fun traditions that just happen because you've done things the same way for years. It's so fun to share special moments together! Your right about directing the choir---not as easy as it LOOKS!

What a neat tradition your family has. I would have never thought each child to have his/her own color of egg. I am happy you were able to get through the family pictures without any "opposition". Please tell me your secret!
ha ha ha
Yeah, usually family pictures are a big ordeal! But I always love doing pictures! ha ha.
Yeah, the tradition of having our own color egg makes things easier because that way we all get the same amount of eggs and they can be hidden easier for the little kid he he he.
I love my family!
