Would someone please explain to me why I didn't just go crazy when I walked into Amy's room and saw these two lovely works of art recently? Yup...you guessed it--she wrote her name on the carpet with a colored pencil, & drew beautiful flowers and a rainbow along with her name on her white headboard!! WHAT WAS SHE THINKING---she would forget it was her bed and floor in her room??? I discovered the headboard decorations one day after she was in her room quietly "resting", & the purple penmanship on the carpet was yesterday or the day before. Hokie Doodle!! (I haven't even tried scrubbing them off yet cause I wanted to take a picture...crazy of me -I know!) Actually, I'll be sending HER in there with the carpet cleaner and the Mr. Clean sponge!! She knew without me getting all upset that she shouldn't have done that.
Am I a bad ( slack) parent for not punishing and getting upset...or a good one? Hmmm???

I kind of like the decoration on the head board. You should leave that one. Yes, have her clean the carpet, but I really do like the headboard :) I didn't even know that colored pencil could write on carpet. Fancy!
You should kill one bird with two stones- let her clean it up and you take pictures so you can scrapbook this memorable moment!
I agree... the headboard isn't that big of a deal... its kind of cute, but I would definitely have HER clean the carpet...
But then again, if you leave her headboard decorated, she might think it is okay to do that sort of thing...

I think you are a fabulous parent!! And how wonderful to take a picture to remember!! Like you said she *knew* it was wrong so she didn't need anymore direction from you:)
